This recipe has a bit more spices than my Mom used. She’s a salt person. You either got salt or onion-salt on your vegetables. Not much else. I’m a bit more adventurous, but if you want to stick to the basics, just omit the spices or trim them back to just the ones your family likes (or will tolerate).
Don’t overcook your corn, it gets kind of mushy if you do. This is the toughest aspect of corn, having it ready to go on the table with the rest of the foods without overdoing it. If that’s a big issue for you, consider this slow cooker corn variation.
