Let’s face it, when you go to the movies popcorn is part of the experience. As a kid. if we got to pick a second food item my favorite were Raisinets. My sister usually went for Sno Caps or Dots. Honestly I couldn’t stand either.
Today, our trips to the theater are less frequent…it’s too easy to watch movies at home. To be perfectly honest, we usually make a bowl of popcorn. I think we do that somewhat automatically, possibly in an effort to recreate the theater experience. But as I got to thinking about it, there are so many more options when you’re home. And at theaters. There are whole theater chains (like the Alamo Draft House) that have entire menus dedicated to their patrons.
So with Halloween approaching, I decided to shake up the Dinner and a Movie series a little bit and present some foods that can be eaten with any of a group of Halloween movies. I realize time is short before your little ghouls and vampires will be out on the street begging for candy…I mean trick-or-treating…so I tried to stick with easy recipes that you can pull together quickly.
And of course, since it seemed appropriate, there are 13 recipes and movies! Muahahahaha…
