I’ve run across several recipes lately that have called for “beaten” or “thin” chicken breasts. I’ve even had a number of stuffed chicken breast recipes, but have avoided them because pounding chicken breasts is such a messy, loud, and icky business.
I was talking to one of my daughters about this, and she came up with a unique solution that uses gallon zippered storage bags. She’s the queen of using everyday items in new and unique ways, so I listen when she talks.
My favorite meat tenderizing mallet (we call it a meat hammer in the Hectic Household) is the Ekco Meat Tenderizer. If you don’t have a meat tenderizing mallet, then you can use a regular hammer (personally I would wash mine first) or quite honestly any other large, hard object. Use your imagination!
