This taco meat is made entirely in the slow cooker–no prior browning required. While I prefer my beef browned in a pan, there are times when the Hectic Household demands that I be elsewhere when dinner is being prepared. This recipe lets me do two things at once.
Slow Cooker Taco Meat
Ingredients
- 2 pounds Ground Beef
- 20.5 ounces Spicy Jalapeno Refried Beans
- 10 ounces Rotel Tomatoes 10 ounce
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 large Onion
- 2 packets Low Sodium Taco Seasoning
- Cooking Spray
Instructions
- Coarsely chop onion
- Spray slow cooker interior with cooking spray
- Put beef, refried beans, Rotel tomatoes, water, and onion into slow cooker
- Sprinkle taco seasoning over mixture
- Cover slow cooker
- Cook on low for 6 hours, stirring when you can
- Be sure to break up larger chunks before serving
