This recipe requires you to actually cook…on the stove top…in a pot. This assumes that you have a clean pot, and the ability to stay awake and pay attention for a few minutes. If you can’t and fear that you might burn your breakfast, then you might want to consider the microwave method instead.
Stovetop Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 1 cup Quick 1-Minute Oats DO NOT try to use regular, rolled, or non-quick-cooking oats
- 1.75 cups Water
Instructions
- Pour water into a small pot
- Turn the heat to medium high (6-7)
- Wait for the water to boil (meaning it has bubbles coming frequently up to the top)
- Pour the oats into the bowl
- Stir while cooking for one minute
- Remove the pot from heat
- Pour oats into a bowl (you do have a clean bowl to eat out of, don't you?)
- Let the oats stand for 2-3 minutes so you don't burn your tongue
