Another recipe from our “It’s Not Rocket Science” category, this one is for taco meat. While you can make taco seasoning from scratch, I just haven’t had the patience nor time to do it. I try to buy the lower sodium seasoning, since the regular stuff is so salty I can barely eat it. You may have to buy the name-brand for the lower sodium kind, but it’s worth the little bit extra. Despite what the seasoning packages say, this makes about enough for 2-3 normal eaters. Big eaters…just make more.
Taco Meat
Ingredients
- 1 package Low-Sodium Taco Seasoning Mix
- 1 pound Ground Beef or substitute ground turkey
- 3/4 cup Water
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet on medium-high (6-7) heat
- Brown the ground beef or ground turkey be sure there is no pink
- Drain any fat
- Pour water into skillet
- Add seasoning mix
- Stir until ingredients are combined
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce the heat to low (3)
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
- It's ready to serve
