Jambalaya

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper
  • 14 ounces Smoked Sausage
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 28 ounces Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 pound Large Raw Shrimp
  • 6 cups Cooked Rice

Instructions

  • Chop onion
  • Chop bell peppers
  • Cut sausage into 1/2-inch slices
  • Melt butter in saucepan over medium-high heat
  • Add sausage, onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and garlic to preheated skillet
  • Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
  • Add tomatoes, pepper sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes
  • Stir to completely mix ingredients
  • Bring to a boil
  • Add shrimp
  • Cook 3-5 minutes until shrimp are cooked (opaque in the center)
  • Add hot rice
  • Gently stir to mix ingredients
  • Cook 5 minutes
  • Serve
