Cut the ends off the asparagus
Cut the asparagus into pieces about 1 inch long
Coarsely chop the onion
In the large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat
Add the onion and asparagus to the pre-heated skillet
Cook for three minutes
Add the rice and garlic to the skillet
Cook for two minutes, stirring frequently
Add the chicken broth to the skillet
Reduce the heat to medium low
Cook for fifteen minutes stirring occasionally
Add the milk and parmesan cheese
Stir until all ingredients are well mixed
Serve
