Cook the wild rice according to the package directions
Cut up the bacon into small pieces
Chop the onion
Cube the velveeta into bite-sized piecs (about 1-inch on a side)
In a small saucepan, cook the bacon on medium for 5 minutes, stirring frequently
Add the onion to the pan
Cook for another two minutes, stirring frequently
Drain off the excess fat
In a large pot combine the rice, bacon, onion, half-and-half, potato soup, and velveeta
Cook over low heat until all ingredients are combined, stirring frequently
Serve
