Thinly slice the cucumbers
Place a layer of cucumbers in the mixing bowl
Sprinkle the cucumbers with a small amount of salt
Continue layering cucumbers and adding salt until all cucumber slices are used
Place a saucer or other weight on cucumbers to weigh them down
Cover and let stand for several hours at room temperature
Pour off cucumber juices
Combine sour cream, vinegar, pepper, sugar, and chopped dill in the small mixing bowl and stir until completely blended
Pour the mixture on top of the cucumbers
Serve
